Commercial Real Estate?
Are there any special classes, outside of the real estate licensing exam that I need to take to become a commercial real estate agent in Michigan?

No. The licensing exam is the same for commercial and residential realtors so the classes are the same. But none of the classes usually teach you about either side of the business anyway. You usually take some sort of training after you are licensed to actually learn about the business. The brokerage you work for will either teach you themselves or direct you to a source. Where I am from the majority of the Commercial Realtors take CCIM classes to gain expertise.

EDIT: My apologies. I get the query now. :) If this church is constructing a mall so as to elevate cash, I'm no longer definite I could consider it. Though anyone above gave a few examples of church buildings that DID do it to elevate cash, so I wager it relied on what they used the money for. If anyone donates $X and the church turns it into $10X by some means after which is helping 10 occasions extra humans than they would have with the customary donation, I wager there are worse matters. On the opposite hand, if the leaders of that church use the money for themselves (e.g., shopping quality autos, and so on), I feel I could most likely have a quandary. The above is all founded on if that church used to be truthfully MAKING any cash off of it; if they're truthfully wasting cash, I could like to grasp their motivation. Though if they're wasting cash out of the exercise, I gotta feel that no less than of their brain they've a well rationale for doing this. If this church is, for instance, endeavor this growth to support preserve the field surrounding its headquarters or different major web sites, and maintain it from getting run down, I'm happy with it. P.S. - I not ever proposal the motive of the query used to be to bash, sorry if I gave that influence. I simply misinterpret what you had been asking and proposal slightly rationalization used to be so as. I realize the query...FINALLY. ;-)

linkus is talking about IF you become a member of NAR; national assn of realtors. I suggest
you NOT join them.
the fastest way to become a commercial agent is to joint a commercial agency
the 2nd fastest way is to seek out a broker who sells "desk space" for $25 a mo and
ask him or her if you may deal in commercial.
read books about the subject.
and asap, FOCUS ON BEING A BUYERS OR SELLERS AGENT--NEVER
DO BOTH.
