The Bucks got the better deal in this case. But these two teams had different goals they had to accomplish. Milwakee did not have a problem with retaining money and although Maggette is a solid player, he comes with a big salary. Golden state got some cap space, a decent player in charlie bell. Though i have to say the bucks did well in getting a second round pick. I think the bucks did this also because john salmons is a Unrestricted Free Agent so they needed some more depth on their team

It's the Bucks because they got a star player in Maggette. He can fill the void that Salmons may leave because it's likely he will opt out of his contract. He has better offense than Salmons and a decent defender as well because of his combination of speed and strength. Golden State received two good defenders but virtually no offense. But Gadzuric may be a good pick up because they really need quality centers.
