How bad is my hamstring?

Ok I pulled my hamstring 2 weeks ago playing in a softball game...It was a very noticeable stretch that stopped me dead in my tracks. I went to the doctor the next day and got a shot of Toridal in the butt and some 800mg Motrin. Was told to ice it and stay off of it. Well I did as I was told but had a tournament over the weekend. It didn't really bother me to much but I noticed on Monday that there is a huge bruise that is very tender. Basic joggin doesn't not hurt...Now it's just tight and a normal painful bruise. Any idea how long before I am able to sprint and put some stress on it.

Participating in the tournament apparently aggravated your condition. Having pulled a few hamstrings of the years my suggestion would be to continue icing and alternating heat on the area. And most importantly...do or continue to stretch 2 or 3 time each day until the bruising is gone. Personally I'd give myself another 2 weeks with limited or low impact exercises and low speed jogging. Until it is completely healed you are susceptible to continued injury.
