Well, I live in Central Jersey and I found Cablevision to have the best bang for your buck package. I previously had Dish Network for tv and I thought they had a superior product, but not superior pricing. I had Verizon for internet and phone service. I save roughly $80/month with Cablevision and get tv, internet, and phone for one low price. The only channels that I watch that werent available on Cablevision are the NFL network and DIY network. I have a contract with Cablevision that guarantees my pricing for 2 years AND there is no cancellation fee if I decide to terminate my service at anytime during this 2 year period. And an added bonus was that they paid off my termination fees for BOTH Verizon and Dish Network. Like i said, I think the product is a little more inferior than that or Dish Network's and Verizon's but I can more than live with a slightly inferior product to save $80/month!!!

Cable isn't that great in my opinion. My mother has Dish Network at her house, and my father has Direct TV at his house, so I've experienced both. Both work pretty well and we haven't had too many problems. But I prefer Dish to Direct TV because it's easier to search for certain programs or movies on Dish.

It all depends on what kind of best deal you want in your TV service.
Dish Network can give you the best family entertainment and cheaper price with multiroom entertainment. However, if you want to get the best sports programming that you can get from Cable TV with a cheaper price, I suggest getting Direct TV. You can also take advantage of their Whole Home DVR service where you can record your program at one point and watch them from anywhere in your room.
