he has 99 problems, but he does not have a girlfriend/
IE Girls are a hang on and a problem if you have a girlfriend its a problem,

99 was just a catchy number to him that also made a point to exagerate. We all have problems, but who counts them? If they do, that to is a problem!!
In the way he refers to girls, its no wonder their not a problem, no one in thier right mind would be with him.
