Yes! You absolutely CAN and probably SHOULD put sport bike or sport touring tires on your maxi-scooter. Why? In my experience, scooter riders ride more often, they ride in a wider range of weather conditions, and they ride through more traffic than most other motorcycle riders. I have sport bike tires on my Burgman 650. The only problem is that the rear tires wear out after only 5,000 miles. I've got 7,500 miles on the front tire and it's time to replace it. A sport Touring tire may well have a tougher center tread and sticky outside edges giving you good mileage and good grip in the corners. Look for a nice round profile to give you smooth, predictable cornering.Try looking for tires at:

I haven't used all these, but I did find good service and prices at CompAcc.com. They even have a section for scooter tires like the Michelin Pilot Sport SC Radial--a sport bike tire in maxi-scooter sizes. Good luck.

If your scooter tires are tubeless, and you dont have spokes, then yes, but it may affect the handling of the scooter, and not necessarily for the better. It may make it harder to control because they are different shaped tires.
