Obama fires McChrystal = thin skin. Obama keeps McChrystal = weakness. Pretty easy to attack Obama, isn't it?

I think we all know that if Obama had kept McChrystal, at this very moment Fox News and lots of questions here would be attacking him for being "weak."

So why accept criticism of Obama's decision, when we know he's going to be criticized no matter what he does? Doesn't credibility matter?

Correct. I think their main criticism of Obama is the sheer fact that he had the audacity to run for President, and win, but they will never admit it.

Yes ... and it's criticism based on ignorance and intolerance! Those very same critics have short memories ... they saw nothing wrong in the 8 years of cringe worthy bumblings and mismanagement of Bubba Bush who I'm pretty sure got a big A+ from General McChrystal after sharing the 'Mission Accomplished' Thanksgiving Turkey'!

Obama's determination will coach the worldwide precisely what variety of guy or woman he's. If Obama is clever he would be greater excited by the end result on u . s . a ., no longer what people in different international locations think of. i'm undecided Obama is that clever. we stumble on out day after today.

There are other options besides firing = thin skin and keeping = weakness, actually. Bush didn't get any credit from libs for this, but I cannot think of one time he responded to criticism, he just stayed on his course. Bush wasn't accused by libs of either thin skin or weakness, so far as I know.

Seems to me Obama could have gotten by with a public or private reprimand and hurt his own face less.

Where do you people keep getting that we would call him weak for not firing him???? I was hoping he wouldn't, he had every right to but that didn't mean he had to fire him. He could have repermanded him and sent him on his way. I don't like to see ANYONE get fired from there job when they have shown as much dedication to it as a general obviously has. It's a sad day, but Obama did have every right to fire him, you lose freedom of speech when in the military, everyone learns that from day one at boot. HE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN WEAK NOT TO FIRE HIM.

BTW, Fox news was saying that they didn't want him fired either, kinda hard to come back and say he was weak for doing what you were voting for. Fox also gave him credit for overlooking politics and hiring the best man for the job to replace him. But I'm sure you just ignore that since that is fair and balanced. Try watching fox news sometime instead of just going by Olbermanns Worst Person's of the World rhetoric which ONLY features Fox news, (did you know he was fired by Fox news, maybe that's why he hates them so much).

Similarly, he's criticized for doing too little about the oil spill, and for over-reacting to the oil spill. If the Republican's indiscriminately criticise *everything,* they will eventually lose credibility.

A weakness the Democrats have always had is that they let the Republicans define them, and the scenario you cite is just one example. I think the Democrats should play the same game right back at them.

Credibility counts for a whole lot ,and Obama has none.Obama lost any respect for his " credibility" when at the beginning of the Pres. campaign he took the pledge, along with ALL the candidates, to confine camp. spending to public funding, Obama broke his pledge immediately and took money from everywhere, showing me ,right then, how little his word or his pledge means..and there went his props for credibility.

It was a humiliation for Obama. It had to be. A president that commands no respect has to feel humiliated. And the world knows it. McCrystal was in Afghanistan to win. Obama's in it to get out. And the world knows that too.

It's just like the 'Point - Counterpoint' segment that one of the news magazine shows used to have. It doesn't matter what the 'point' is, Fox will always take the 'counterpoint.
