The picture quality is all wrong. The help files are crappy. I've tried using the WMV8 Best Quality profile. I want to produce a video file to upload to our company's intranet site.

If the picture quality of the original file is not that good, most likely the results will not be that good as well...
you can use other profiles like AVI but since you'll upload it on your company's website, make sure you can take consideration the video's file size and the appropriate resolution for public viewing...
