Do you think the BP oil spill will be the beginning of the end of offshore drilling?

In other words, do you think humans will stop offshore oil drilling after what happened with BP?

Put it this way---you hear all about "going green".....but you sure don't see any agressive government efforts in getting alternative fuels to REPLACE Big Oil, now do you???

I think it's the beginning of FINALLY getting government agencies--who should have better policed U.S. offshore drilling rigs to do their job, instead of looking the other way.

9/11 had us all undergo major airline security reforms. The BP oil spill is about to have U.S. offshore drilling industry undergo major reforms. What WILL be of interest is to see the penalty fees charged for safety violations. Obama managing to snag $20 billion from BP, when you put it in proper Big Oil profit context, is really akin to a mere wrist slap; the oil spill will prove to be three times costlier!!

The offshore industry reform rules will be tough---but will the penalty fees be tough to pay out?? I seriously doubt so!!

of course not, as much as most politicians preach - green green green, its $$$ which is the big factor involved in all this, as the demand increases so will the price making it even harder to stop off shore drilling.

Give it a few years and chances are there will be as much if not more than before this happend
