Crocheting a cute beanie. ~PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION!~?

My friend is 18 and for her grad party I wanted to make her a beanie because she loves them. But the cute ones are all toddler sizes. I'm a beginning crocheter so trying to follow written instructions with abbreviations is hard for me. I've been searching all day for a video tutorial on how to make a cute hat. I want it to be a lightweight beanie and it has to be a clear video without choppiness. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME. Her grad party is in 2 hours and i've been trying to make a beanie all day.

If you are a beginner, you can't do a good job of a whole hat in two hours. Sorry, it just can't be done. What I suggest is that you make a nice card for her. Draw beanies all over the front. Inside, make it a "coupon" for a beanie. Include a snippet of the yarn you have for it, and tell her she gets to pick the pattern and you'll make her the hat. That way, you have a present to take with you, and she will also get a really nice hat because you will have time to make it really good.

For patterns and tutorials and pattern-reading helps, I highly recommend yarn manufacturers' websites. I like www.redheart.com

    www.lionbrand.com

    www.coatsandclark.com

best. They are great. The yarn companies want to keep us supplied with patterns and all the help we need to keep crocheting happily away -- and buying more yarn, of course.

This hat fit my 9 year whose head it not much smaller then mine. I would use a size bigger hook and if need do a couple extra rows for length. Good Luck!
