How to repair some small rust spots in a car?

I just bought a 97 Jeep Cherokee XJ and has some small rust spots in it, I would like to try to repair it myself. What is the best way to do it?

Update:

The rust spots are on the body. No holes.

you will need a grinder if the rust is real bad. if not course sandpaper will do the job. start by removing all of te rust possible.(don skip this, rust will spread an come back making a small repair a costly one. next take some body filler (ex. Bondo.ect.) get a spreader and start goin over the spots.(after removing the rust it may have put a hole somewhere in the body if so take some small screen, just about any kind will do as long as it has small holes. After the body filler has dried get some course sandpaper and a sandin block an start to take the larger portions down, being sure not to take it down to far. Then continue working your way from course to fine paper removing little at a time until scratches r virtually gone. As a added step i always spray a little primer over my work to see any places i might have missed they show up much better after painted.

Be sure to do your work where the body filler will not get wet this will cause cracking.

This is a trial an error kind of thing so ddon'tget ffrustratedwith it.

    good luck and have fun.

If it is in a spot that you want to look like the rest of the car, then you might have to take it to a professional, otherwise you can sand the area and a little past its edges(to prevent further rust). Then if it is a deep spot, fill it with Bondo (body filler). if it is not deep skip this step. After the Bondo hardens, sand it even with the rest of the body. Then if all you want to do is prevent further rust, just buy a can of clearcoat from an auto parts store and spray over it. Or you can spray a primer, the same color spray paint as your vehicle, and the clearcoat, if you want it to look better. Make sure you remove all of the rust around and in the area or it will just rust under the paint and bubble.

I certainly have a 2015 Nissan Rogue it had small little rust spot the broker does no longer restore it they stated it wasn't bubbly style rust and doubtless a determining to purchase cart hit it I purely had it 3 months i think like there should not be any rust spots on the motor vehicle so I took it immediately to the motor vehicle physique save to have it fixed. is that this typical?
