May I please get your opinion on my photography(:?
I love constructive criticism, in fact, I thirst for it so that I may improve!
I'm a sophomore, been more deeply into photography for about a year now, and I shoot with a craptastic point and shoot! Cheers

Your technique is great, I like what you do with lighting and framing. However, it would be great if you could find better subject matter. If you could do more like the ones with the floating mushrooms (or whatever those were) and the bricks and snow, that would be great. The ones that have flowers and people as the subjects look good, but that kind of picture been explored to the point where they're not really intriguing anymore. If you can find a way to show those things in a never before seen perspective you should do that, but unless you do that you should stay away.

Take a look at virtually any of the questions on which are asking the same thing.
You will see virtually the same photos on all of them.
There will be a few random objects, a couple of snaps of the family, maybe a couple of self portraits and of course the random flower or plant with nothing really going for it.
Cliched??? nah not at all - but it seems that every teen in the US is being brainwashed into taking the exact same images for some reason.
Maybe the government is sending out a signal through the tv or something.
I do wish they would stop though.

I like alot of the photos in your stream but I suggest that if you are going to carry on with your photography I would save up for a Digital SLR, You can take your time to save up because it seems like your doing pretty well with just your point and shoot.
To improve I reckon that you should try photography more of a range of subjects and experimenting with techinques.
Heres mine if you wanna get some ideas for things:

I have to agree with Bob a little, some snaps of the family, some random objects, the flowers, the self portraits. I've seen it all before. That being said, I thought they were pretty good, not great, but good. Just keep working at it, it'll come.

Your technique is good but sometimes your subject is not that interesting. My fave, your self portrait with your hand on the window. Very warm and personal. Your commentary conveys your intellect very nicely. In other words your pictures can be worth a thousand words but your words are also picturesque. Good luck Lucy.
