How can I safely get rid of these leaf eating bugs in my garden?
I'm brand new to gardening, so I planted a small garden 2 months ago. I probably planted in too small an area because it is getting quite overgrown. However, I've been able to take some weeds out and I think most of the plants are the ones I seeded. The problem I have now is over half the plants (mostly peppers and tomato) are getting eaten really bad by some bugs. I think it's these new kind of horned beetle looking things that I've never seen before I planted this garden. They are really holing up the leaves.
Is there anything I could spray or do to stop them? I would like to see if I could eventually grow and eat something out of the garden so I don't want to use too much pesticide. I'm in Florida, so it's pretty hot/sunny now and a fair amount of rain falls. Thanks!

The most effective, and least toxic way is to pick them off and kill them by drowning. Sometimes you can see them better at night with a black light. The next best is to use an insecticidal soap. It's also non-toxic but you have to spray almost every day. Another non toxic fix is to plant marigolds in and around all the other plants. Bugs hate marigolds and try to avoid them.
