dick car guy and st paul gu only. when we took veh in for 5o k c/u the tranny was acting like it needed a pt;. dealer cured problem. now 8k later, out of warranty. it is starting to slip heavily.
my 92 3q ton w 250k is great, w no probs. it has a dipstick.

I don't understand if tranny is acting like it only needed a pint????? Tranny's shouldn't show any symptoms if only a pint low. Usually a quart low won't cause any noticable problems unless heavy towing but if you towed with it under a considerable weight, then there may have been some unrepairable damage done. If you went 8,000 miles, how was it the dealers fault??
Did you mention to the dealership that you were having problems or did you mention to them that your tranny fluid was low??
