how to get 100% CPU usage on video conversion?
I have a quad core 3.2Gh computer, running Windows 7, with 8 Gigs of ram, a 1 gig video card and proper software that utilizes all 4 cores, what do I need to change to get 100% CPU utilization. I'm currently only getting 25-30%...it is using all cores, some more than others and is set to high priority and to use all cores. My current software is "4Media HD Video Converter 6", any ideas to try, I have this nice of a computer and I want to be able to use every bit of it instead of just waiting because I'm not using it.
Thanks.
Also, I am running a 10,000rpm 300gig sata drive, it doesn't put much of a dent in my memory usage and can still stream HD accross my network and watch a blu-ray on the computer while it runs, so there should be much more I can get out of the computer than just the 25-30% usage.

You will never get full 100% CPU usage on a video conversion because if all the CPU's resources were being used to do that your computer itself could not do the other REQUIRED functions that it would need to operate. The point to having a dual or quad processor is so that there is an equal balance of use from all the processors so instead of 1 giving you 60 -90% CPU usage, it will combine 25 - 30% from each processor. You would also need more than 8GB memory to get even near that usage because your processors will not use the entire 8GB of memory. It will use closer to 3 or 4GB, depending on how much memory your video memory will allow you to use.

Then that's all it wants to use. You can limit how much it uses, but can't force it to use more than its able to. It depends on the task it's doing and how well the program is made.
Think of it like this:
A man needs to take 100 sticks from one place and put them somewhere else. The most he can take at once is 20. He is not able to carry more, not matter what. However, he could carry less if he wanted to.
