Rhonda Byrne, the Creator of "The Secret"

There is one power within you that is stronger than any other power. This power is the Supreme Power! When you use this power it will dissolve all chaos, it will wipe out all negativity, and it will cut through every single situation, unfailingly. Any situation of negativity in your life is simply the absence of this one almighty power. You can rely on it to obliterate every negative thing, because nothing can stand up against it. You can use it on yourself or anyone else, and the more you use it, the more powerful it becomes. You have an unlimited source of this power, which is the most magnetic substance in the entire Universe... This Supreme Power within you is Love. Send it outwards, send it inwards, and then stand back and watch what happens to your life...

As with most things in "The Secret", a lot of this is really vague, and tries to answer lots of complicated situations with one overly-simple sounding solution.

How, exactly, does "Love" for example get my laundry clean? Or help me out with my credit card bill? I suppose I can stretch the definition of "love" to mean dozens of other things, or philosophically argue after-the-fact that my reason for doing anything ultimately comes down to something that could be called "love" (e.g., I pay my credit card bill so that I can still keep my credit card and also not go to jail, because I'd prefer to live at home with my stuff, in turn because I "love" that situation on some level). But that isn't the same as offering a powerful solution.

I think love is overrated. I think people who say love will solve everything aren't living in the real world. Love isn't bad, but it's not the answer to all things.

And negativity is not merely the absence of love, and such a claim trivializes the complexities of negative influences in our existence. Yes, if we all loved each other, there would be no racism, but that doesn't mean racism is merely the absence of love. And you know what? We don't need everyone loving everyone else to stop racism either. There are more reasonable solutions available, and this sort of mentality trivializes those real world options.

My thoughts on that statement are that it's patent bullcrap. Humans have this strange tendency to take emotions which feel powerful in one's mind (love in particular), and to ascribe actual powers to them outside of that context. That's ridiculous. To put it into perspective, it's like saying that because the Windows operating system is a powerful computer program, it has the power to reach outside the computer and solve all the world's problems. That's how silly it sounds.
