Does Angel ever get as good as Buffy?

Question

I'm at the beginning of season 4 of Angel, and while I like it a lot, I don't *love* it like I do Buffy. Buffy was always just so epic and always managed to surprise me and top itself every season with tons of emotion packed in there. With Angel, it's just...a little dry and unsurprising. By the end of its 5th season will it get jaw-droppingly good and give me shivers like the last few seasons of Buffy did? 
I know it's just a TV show :P but I want to know if you think watching the rest will pay off with something that will make me go "wow." Yea, I know I'm a geek!!!

I think Buffy was better because of the characters.They were young & believable  although of course I know vampires aren't running around being staked every night by a young girl.It maintained a light humor about it which I don't think Angel has. Angel is darker & the characters also went darker so it really depends on what you like.

Season 4 is the best of ANGEL in my opinion.
As to does it get as good as BtVS... Well that's up to your own individual views. I don't have a preference between the two shows. I think they're equally as good as each other.  
I'll agree that ANGEL doesn't have the emotional impact of that BtVS does so if that's what you're waiting for then you may be disappointed. Season 4 should grab you though but season 5 probably won't. Watch it though, characters show up in it you may really want too see.

It gets better but I don't think it ever gets as good as buffy. You should still watch it though its an amazing show and season 5s last few episodes are brilliant
