Good question. What is it and what were the events that led up to it and made it possible?

Probably Desert Storm. The invasion of Normandy may have been the largest, but it terms of efficiency and quickness, nothing yet beats Desert Storm.

We lost how many troops in Desert Storm? We lost more than 10 times that in the first few hours of D-Day on the shores of Omaha and Utah beaches.

Also, the war was pretty much over in 100 hours. Combat after D-Day lasted considerably more with more casualties.

    But that's just my opinion.

The invasion of immigrants into the United kingdom

And ok in all seriousness , i would say the German invasion of Poland and France in ww2 , both were military genius , the blitzkrieg tactics were amazing and were used by america during desert storm , the taking of poland and france and the surrendering of Belgium took 6 weeks

D-Day was a logistics miracle. Sherman's march to the sea is pretty amazing. Desert Storm was fast and effective but it is the equivalent of the US Army with rifles vs. those poor Indians with bow and arrows. Since we are not speaking German today, I will go with D-Day.

The annexation of Austria by Germany. No shots fired; country annexed.

Nazi Germany into Poland. Blitzkrieg. You know the story.
