My motserella cheese says it expired early june. can I still use it?
So I used it anyway, pizza bagle,.a little sticky to the fingers and knife, but is it still good or should i toss it in the trash
no, no funky colors or mold. Sealed packaging from Shoprite or sorrentos. I'm going to toss anyway, a month past exp date is too far for my tastes.

cheese usually ages well, given the proper climate. your mozzarella should be white and smell fresh and be free of any green brown black or red spots. Any discoloration and you should throw it out for sure. If its grated and you see any discoloration, DEFINITELY throw it out. Pre-grated cheeses are notorious for being infested with bacteria which spreads easier than on a regular chunk of cheese.

All cheese is aged to some degree. May cheeses have mold on the outside that is okay to eat. May have mold injected into them for aging. If you don't see any mold it's okay to eat.

If there is no mold on it, or it's not soggy and smells bad, then it should be fine.
