would it be a simple swap or are many modifications needed?

Actually it would be simple, since your not going from a sohc to dohc engine but dohc to dohc. Could practically pull the engine yourself since no modifications are needed.

Major headache! Many software changes. You would need the computer too and the wiring harness would likely need to be changed out too. Single year changes are bad enough, 3 years... forget it.
