You should be concerned unless you really trust your friend, but watch your bank account anyway.

Banks will transfer funds from 1 bank account to another bank account for a fee.

Your friend could have either gave you a check or cash.

With check printing software,he can print a check with your routing and account numbers, fill in any amount, and cash it before you know it.

With your card number and 3 digit code,it is possible to make a fake card and spend your money any place that takes credit/debit cards.

Most cashiers do not ask for ID when you use a credit/debit card, even though they are supposed to.

They can use your card as a credit card and sign your name on the receipt, this way, they do not need your pin number debit your bank account.

This is why they keep saying NOT to give anyone your personal information-especially banking information and your social security number unless you initiated the contact first and the information is needed.

Get to your bank and tell them what you did, they can transfer your money to another account and close your old one.

This takes priority over everything else.

Oh, call your bank and report that incident. No transfer needed your card number and 3 digit code. He could pay for a wire transfer with your account and routing number, but would have paid a $15 fee to transfer money to you. This friend can now transfer money out or steal money via your card number! Watch your account carefully, and get a new number and card.

When you gave away your bankcard number and the security code, you gave away your bank account. That person can spend not only all you have in the account, but probably more, and you have to pay it back to the bank. That was not smart on your part or cool on theirs. I would call the bank the first thing--now if they have 24/7 customer service--and find out if you've been robbed. Then cancel the card at least, if not the account.

Sounds like a scam of some sort to me. Individuals don't usually have the means to do this kind of transfer. Call your bank and ask the right questions.

You should safeguard your account by calling the bank and making arrangements with them. The "friend" should just give you a check, money order or cash for you to deposit into your account. More than likely this "friend" is just trying to buy time and delay telling you that he or she doesn't have the money.

Routing number and account number. You can set this up in most online banking sites. It takes a couple of days to get to working order because your bank will have to send you a letter in the mail to make sure that no one else has gotten into your account and is trying to steal from you. There is always Western Union.

Yes never give out those details to anyone. All you need is a sort code and account number. Be careful in this matter.
