.You shouldn't just jump in the military and try to go becomes a Ranger or Special Forces soldier. You should become an Infantryman first. That's to gain your tactical skills and increase your physical ability . Most 'fresh out of boot camp' soldier are the first ones to washout of the training. As serpico said you should look at extremesealexperience. It's not as hard as BUD/S but it gives you taste of what it's like. http://www.extremesealexperience.com/

Ben's talking about the Australian Army, read his prior questions.
It is possible to apply for the Commandos directly out of civilian life, but you won't get accepted to even start recruit training under this scheme unless your case manager, psychologist and interviewing officer think you've got good chances of making it all the way through the pipeline. If they don't recommend you for it, you've always got two other preferences to fall back on.
If you want to get into the Commandos joining as a Rifleman is your best bet - regular infantry statistically makes up the biggest recruiting ground for SASR and Commandos. If you join as a Gunner, you'll most likely end up having to do an Infantry IET before trying selection.
That being said, virtually young bloke these days wants to join the infantry. Infantry work is not supposed to be fun, and most of the time it isn't. You might find job satisfaction in another Corps.

well the major thing for you here do you think that you have what it takes to be a commando, and the other thing is if your not sure contact your local army recruiting office and arrange for an interview because its a great way to find out if its for you and don't worry because you can walk away from it without any obligations so just give it a go

too much GI Joe kid. there is no "Commandos" in the Army. do some Research on what high speed jobs that are out there then come back.
but No you do not have what it takes, not until you can get it right, and at least properly name what units you want to be in.

Extreme SEAL Experience. Its a course in VA. Run entirely by former SEALs. some active. They have helped plenty of guys see what life is like in spec ops. There are other courses but i personally recommend this one. you will get to go through a mock hell night and 24 hours of @ss kicking. but its not so much of the yelling and screaming. its VERY informative. An they will do everything they can to get you to stay and experience it. Once thats over its tough mock operations. Firing weapons from choppers, survival training, CQB training and so much more. You can ask what ever questions you have about how tough it is. In fact the guy running the course encourages guys to call him with questions, even if they are not going to his course.
Your talking about some serous training on the top of the food chain SEALs or Army Spec Ops. Its been said SEAL BUDs training is where boys come to die, men come to quite and freak shows come to conquer

I can safely say, NO, since you obviously have no idea what you are talking about or what the job involves.
Elite forces are composed of and intended for veteran soldiers who thoroughly understand their profession. Since you don't even seem to be aware of the basic terminology, I suggest you do some research before you pursue this idea.
