Why do Conservatives claim "liberal media bias"?
I always hear conservatives claiming liberal media bias, but isn't this really just a convenient way for people to disagree with information they wish wasn't so? They seem to think FOX is the only reliable source, but how would it make sense that there is some huge liberal conspiracy which has somehow turned 90% of the news media liberal. Even if reporters and what-not were more liberal, wouldn't this more likely be the result of someone who has experienced more and done more research. I mean most social-workers would be called "liberal", but I'd trust their opinion on the state of social affairs, than some politician with no first hand experience. Essentially by claiming liberal media bias, people are able to easily cast aside any information they wish wasn't so because... "oh that's just the liberal media trying to steal our Jesus and make us worship Drag queens and give our jobs to Bin Laden". I see Americans do this all the time and it looks very childish and delusional.
First, I'll point out that I get my news from all sources, including FOX. So I'm not only going to one source. Conservatives claim, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, BBC, Canadian, etc is ALL liberal biased. For some people to claim all news but one (FOX) is biased is rediculous.
To touch on my earlier example, I think conservatives view it this way... a City reporter reports on a gay pride parade, but they don't claim gays are immoral, or that there should also be a straight parade = liberal bias.

Conservatives wail about "liberal media bias" in order to secure a monopoly of information dissemination for themselves. They are trying to discredit anyone who does not fall in line with their own agenda. They accuse other media outlets, who try to be objective, of having a liberal bias in order to trick the public into thinking that their media outlets, which have a blatant conservative bias, are actually objective. It's similar to their criticisms of liberal bias in higher education. The conservative message is obvious: "Don't learn about our world yourself; let us tell you what is going on." The Information Age has become the Misinformation Age.

Why do liberals have to deny the truth.
FOX News has a Conservative bias and talk radio is dominated by Conservatives. It is a fact, nothing I can do or say will change that.
Outside of these mediums almost all other forms of media are dominated by liberals. It is a fact that you or I cannot change. Why is it something that you feel the need to dispute or deny.
It seems as if liberals spend most of their time trying to convince the rest of the world that the things they believe in and the facts associated with them are not true.
I believe it would help you cause if you were just honest and stated you beliefs clearly; no more reinventing yourself.
As an added bonus you would not have to remember what label you are using each day; you would not have to check the talking points to remember if you are a socialist, a liberal or a progressive or whatever comes next. Simplicity is wonderful sometimes.

Becaus the media is liberal bias?!?!? Let's see, when ever Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck or any other influencial conservative says something wrong or bad or whatever the media is very quick to get on their cases. However Obama befriending terrorists (Bill Ayers, he blew up the pentagon and thinks he should have done more), hiring and associating with devout communists, Marxists, and Maoists, doing very little to help the gulf; trying to regulate what we can drive, what temperature we can keep our houses at, requiring that cars be less safe in order to be more ENVIROMENTALLY safe, what we can say and where, how much money we make and how much we can use for ourselves, and basically turning the greatest country on the planet into a socialist mess gets no air time...i think liberal media bias is an understatement.

I gather your point is "The only reason the media seems biased towards liberalism is that the reporters have seen reality and they believe that only liberalism works."
That is a typical "which came first the chicken or the egg" statement. The reason that your statement doesn't work is that most of the "journalists" come from journalism programs which have been documented to have liberal biases. As a result, they do not come to their biases on the basis of experience but rather as a result of training. I'm sure you know that will color their experience to favor liberalism over conservatism and to see certain solutions as favored over others.
I don't blame anyone but I see the strong positive results of Fox News in viewership as an indication that many see this bias and reject it for the bias it is and not the result of experienced commentators.

How many times was a Liberal one of the three "worst people in the world" on MSNBC? When was the last time Cenk of The Young Turks ever bashed a Lib but constantly finds something to bash Cons and Reps about Fox usually has DEMS and REPS on all their programs to give both sides, when ahs CNN MSNBC or any other liberal based loony Media ever done that consistently, if at all? Shall I go on or do you see now why, Libs are dangerous for the USA

It’s brilliant advertising gimmick put on by fox news. By creating distrust in any other news sources and claiming theirs this the best and only one to trust they systematically remove all of their competitors.
When 90% of something is deemed wrong by the remaining 10% You have to look at WHY the majority is not falling in line with the minority. And is it truly the 90% that is wrong or is it… oh just by chance the leftover 10% that has things backwards?
Most reporters believe strongly that it is the power of the press and its neutrality that is paramount to keeping out country safe. Basically what fox is saying this that 90% of all reporters have willingly walked away from the very value and the constitution of what their jobs stands for.
I think logic says that it is much more likely that 10% would chose that path then 90%.
90% of people are good hard working individuals with only about 10% of us who result in crime and violence. According to FOX’s Logic it’s the crime and violence who have the right idea and the rest of the hard working fools are trying to control and destroy the poor and oppressed less 10%
It simply does not hold true. ( and no I am not saying that fox is about crime in violence I am just proving a point when it come to the numbers)
To the person that said that reporters identify themselves as liberal… that does not mean they cannot be report just the fact of a story with no slant… everyone, regardless of who they are will identify with one side of the other. The JOB of the reporter is to put those feeling aside and report on the facts, not the emotion of a story. By holding how they vote ageist them as a way to discredit their ability to tell the facts, you are in turn discrediting those who report at fox because they identify themselves as conservative. And if a liberal is unable to separate fact from emotion, then the same holds true from conservatives.

Because it's pure and simple fact. In every poll ever done, 80% of reporters identify themselves as liberal.
In the 1984 election, 10 of 10 White House correspondents asked said they voted for Mondale. 10 of 10?
Do you think that might have affected 1984 election coverage?
Read BIAS by Bernard Goldberg for a full look at how the overwhelming bias of reporters toward the liberal perspective influences the news.
Read also in SLANDER by Ann Coulter, the quantifiable facts she reveals (not opinion) on the liberal media's manipulation of the 2000 election (pages 95-114).
The same is true in our universities, where conservatives are increasingly harassed and silenced.

Because there is a liberal media bias, but on the other hand conservatives like to try to scape-goat it and offer it as proof their values are right.
Go watch Fox news - they tout some bullshit and then say "blah blah liberal media bias therefore we are right" and somehow offer that as proof of their opinions.
I'll admit most of the media is liberal, but the touting of "liberal media bias" is pretty stupid. Now, I would like to say that liberals never claim "conservative media bias" but in realtiy, they do, and thats because the term "Fox News" has become synonymous with "Rather then putting together a bias argument from facts, we just twist the news and claim thats how it happened to make our bias". Now, arguing Fox News is pretty much a synonym for a Attack on Credibility.

Keep your mind open, then watch, if you can. Read the book Bias. I never really thought of a bias in the news until I read the book. Now I see how biased the media is, that includes Fox News.

If there is no liberal bias in NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN & MSNBC the sun did not rise today, there is no oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, all the stores are giving their merchandise away and you are the smartest person in the whole world...NOT!
