Should I take a gap year after SOME college?

So I just finished up my freshman year at a University, I would like to transfer to a different school, but I really need to work to make some money. Would it be a good Idea to take the year off, make some money, and then start school again at a different school? Extra money really helps out but when I work too much during college my grades take the hit.

Update:

I work during school but not enough to pay for school. If I pick up more hours I could pay for college, but it would take up too much time.

Part time job is nice for rent, food, etc. but cannot pay for tuition.

Do not want to take out a loan, and I really want to transfer to another university, thinking maybe taking a year off to get stuff together would be beneficiary.

To be honest, after 1 year at this one university, I do not feel $XX,XXX smarter or better off in a career.

dont take years off.. it will make it a lot harder to go back and actually start again.. a lot harder, but it is possible

i would recommend just working a bit, continue college, and taking out a small loan, so you will be able to repay it quicker after you graduate

My Dad did that years ago, he took a year and decided to take a year off as a treat to him self, save up some money, see a few girls. The one year turned into two and then three, eventually he gave up on collage and was left with the bill and no turn out after. It was pretty stupid, and i suggest you don't do the same.

i don't personally know, but my gut feeling is that it's not good to stop in the middle. you'll lose motivation and since you're already in the groove of how things work you don't want to mess that up. work yo butt of during the summer is my only advice. maybe put off the debts until you've graduated- it's better than failing college but not being in debt.

sometimes that is ok but to be honest u can never tell what opp. u miss

I regret mines.so think if you are willing to take a chance and miss an opportunity take your gap (keep in mind that you may not get a good opportunity) so your growing up (learn to take risk )
