  • What diesel engine to swap in 83 Toyota pickup?

I picked up an 83 Toyota pickup 2wd a while back, and I wanted to eventually swap a turbo diesel engine into it. The Toyota L engine came stock in the 83 diesel option, but I have heard it wasn't a great engine.

What engine would be recommended? I would ideally like a 4 cylinder turbodiesel, but don't really know what would fit best in the truck. Also what transmission would be recommended for the diesel?

  • Legal actions against my university?

I am a former student at a University, and the school is trying to have me foot a bill that is incorrect. The charge was created when I dropped a class I signed up for, all within the refund period, and the charge was not actually adjusted off. Their records show I dropped the class within the period, yet they still want my money.

I am obviously not happy, and they keep sending me letters that I need to pay the bill off. When I tried to contact them, they seemed to understand, but no action was done.

Is there some kind of legal action I can take against the school?

  • Guy is selling car still titled in my name, what should I do?

I sold my STI to a guy about a year ago, and now he has it listed again for sale. From what it looks its tags are expired (same expiration from when registered to me) and I'm thinking he probably never actually registered it in his name. Is there some sort of legal action I can take, since I'm guessing the title still has me as the owner?

  • Which motorcycle should I get?

I'm getting a motorcycle, have taken the MSF class but don't have any road experience.

    Yamaha XS650

    Aprilia RSV Mille

    Ducati 748, 996

    KTM 690 SMC

I know I'm fairly inexperienced but don't try to sway me toward a Ninja 250, SV650, or DRZ 400. I understand the risks.

  • Take time off college?

I'm currently between sophomore & junior year at a state university. While I need to finish college soon, I feel a bit burnt out taking classes all the time.

I cannot quit my job, as I need money for school, so is taking a year off college a reasonable alternative?

I'm also considering a transfer to another state university, if it matters.

  • My popcorn didn't pop, whats up with that?

I put my microwave popcorn in the microwave and set it the required time (2.5 minutes), but nothing happened. I bought it about two weeks ago and my popcorn popped a few days ago. I am very disappointed is there a way to explain this or is it just a weird occurrence?

  • Do police have probable cause for arrest?

My roommate said if you get pulled over and the police officer finds a wad of cash in your car, they can arrest you because a wad of cash translates into probably a drug dealer. Can they really arrest you for this?

  • Put motorcycle on apartment balcony?

My dum-bass apartment wants to charge $60 to park a motorcycle in their empty garage, so wondering if its a good idea to put the bike inside my unit on the balcony. The apartment has an elevator, and I hardly see any people, would it be okay for me to just do this or do I have to ask them first or something. As far and I know, the lease stated nothing against it.

  • Can I buy a car straight from the factory?

Here's the scoop: I would like to buy a new car and want to be the first person to drive the car when I get it. My father bought a car from factory back in the 60s and I would like to do something similar. This means 0 miles, not driven by lot attendants or anybody. Can this be done? Lets just assume the car is assembled in Detroit from one of the big 3.

  • Buy a car from Canada and bring to the U.S.?

I found a good deal on a used car from a private seller in BC Canada. What steps must I take to get this ready for the road? Are there any special requirements I must go through? Also if I intend on picking the car up and driving it back to the states would I get any problems at the border with it not being in my name yet. I assume I could get temporary insurance or something.

  • What car would you recommend?

Needs to get fairly good mileage, standard transmission, be reliable. I do not like plastic so little of that, I also like diesel engines, but not necessary.

Cannot look like a chick car or be "cute". Old and rough works.

    2wd okay

    Trucks okay if smaller

I'm looking for a VW MK2 diesel but they don't come by too often, please make suggestions for other options.

  • Car stolen and now there is some damage, who pays for this?

I had a car stolen and the thief decided to pull the ignition all apart, he also put a dent on the front fender. The car thief was arrested but now I need to pay the bills. Is the only way to get money from him to sue him, or is there another legal way to get money out of this guy?

  • FHTM why would somebody do this?

I was asked by a friend to get involved in the Fortune High Tech Marketing system but I do not see a point to this ordeal. It just screams pyramid scheme and I was promised good money for little work, how has this company worked out for all of you who have joined? My friend also said I would get a sizable sign up bonus of 500-1000 dollars U.S. but I do not believe money can come this easily. Can somebody explain to me why I should or shouldn't get involved? Thank you in advance.

  • Should I take a gap year after SOME college?

So I just finished up my freshman year at a University, I would like to transfer to a different school, but I really need to work to make some money. Would it be a good Idea to take the year off, make some money, and then start school again at a different school? Extra money really helps out but when I work too much during college my grades take the hit.
