Do I qualify for in state tuition?

I lived in Arizona for more than 10 years, went to grade school there, and then moved to a different state for high school. Would I qualify for in-state tuition for the AZ public colleges?

I'm going to say you probably do not qualify for in-state tuition. To qualify for in-state tuition in Arizona you must meet the following standards:

    1. Prior to admission, students must have been physically living in Arizona for 12 months. You must be able to document a permanent, continuous presence in Arizona for 12 months prior to the semester for which you are requesting residency.

    2. Students must couple their physical presence within Arizona for twelve (12) months with clear, convincing, and objective evidence of their intent to make Arizona their permanent home and that they have severed ties with their previous state.

Basically, if you just move back to Arizona just as you're starting school, you will be considered a non-resident through the duration of your time at school.

If your parents are residents of Arizona still... then yes. However, if you and your parents moved out of state during your high school years, then you are no longer a resident of Arizona... you're a resident of your current state.

Usually residency status depends upon the most recent couple of years and may not take into account your earlier residency.
