I recently applied to a job, how to respond to this e-mail?

I sent in application information for a job and the HR guy responded "Thanks, we'll be making a decision in about a week". There were probably multiple applicants, should I respond to this e-mail, let him be, what do you think?

If you have not heard back in a week then just drop them a call and ask for the manager, ask him/her if they have made a decision with the job vacancy yet. That way you will look keen but not pestering them.

I went for a job and was told they would be making a decision at the end of the week and didn't hear back from them so i called them and it turned out i that i had missed the 1st call and that i have been offered the job.

    Good luck with it

Wait a week and then telephone the person in HR, and ask about the job. If it has been filled then thank him for his time. In that way you leave a good impression, and show that you were interested enough to follow up on the job. If another opening comes up, they might remember you and contact you.

E-mail back in a week so as to say that you are waiting for there decision.
