Can I buy a car straight from the factory?

Here's the scoop: I would like to buy a new car and want to be the first person to drive the car when I get it. My father bought a car from factory back in the 60s and I would like to do something similar. This means 0 miles, not driven by lot attendants or anybody. Can this be done? Lets just assume the car is assembled in Detroit from one of the big 3.

Sorry but they only sell through dealers.

I work for one of the worlds largest companies and even I can't buy what we make without going to a store.

No I don't work for a car company.
