Waterski boat question?
I plan to buy an 18 foot ski boat that will fit in my garage. How much horsepower would I need to pull a 6' 2" tall 280 pound man up on a slalom ski? Would 220hp be enough?
The boat I'm looking at has a 4.3L Mercury engine.

That's a hard question to answer. One what's the hull style?, what's the make, weight, prop, gearing.Typically yes but with some boats this motor is the bare min needed to run the boat for pleasure. You may need to change the prop and or install a whale tail to help it plane faster. The again it may be just fine the way it is.
Do test drive whatever boat you wish to purchase and if the own won't allow it then move on to a different one.
