Help! Art teachers/assistants!?
I'm a graphic designer fresh out of college and was wondering how to become an art teacher. Do I need a teaching degree as well? What grades would you recommend for beginning teachers? Any rules or career suggestions for beginners? Thanks!

You will still need to get a teaching degree to become a teacher. Depending on the type of art you do, you may not need anymore degrees besides what you already have. To teach traditional art, you may need to get a visual arts degree, depending on whether or not you have transferable credits or what not for graphic design, but I know some schools now teach courses on more computer based art as well as pencil and paper art haha So you might luck out and not need the extra degree. As for grade suggestions, can't help you. I'm only studying to be an art teacher myself :) Best of Luck!

6th grade may be the way to go. They still have innocence, but are more mature from being with some older kids.
