Why do you have to pay to find email addresses?
What if I want to find John Doe's email address. Is there anyway I can find that without having to pay a site to do it? I know there are the white and yellow pages for phone numbers but the same free service should exist for emails.

oh man, no that is a horrible idea. talk about increasing the amount of spam you would get, yikes. Thats exactly why there won't ever be a free solution for this. Do you really want ANYONE being able to figure out your own personal email address? the other reason is, there isn't a small group of companies that control all email. Anyone can go setup an email server on their own computer in their own home using their own domain name. most major companies do this for their own email purposes. It simply wouldn't be practical to have a database like that.
