What is wrong with my car?
I have 2006 Jeep Liberty with 41,000 miles on it.
Whenever I turn the AC on and am parked, reversing, or breaking my car makes this terrible "cracking" sound. It does it with the heat as well. But it doesn't make the noise when I am in motion.
The AC produces cold air and the heater works fine as well. It's just such a terrible sound that honestly hurts me to even hear it. I just bought this car last year and am paying it off over the next 4 years. Nothing else is wrong with it.
Does this sound like a serious problem? Do you think it will cost a lot of money to fix?

Sounds to me like your A/C compressor.
