Progressive muslim has many roots, but mainly it comes from a fusion of progressive rock like Pink floyd, mixed with Quraan.

So during the recitation of surat al baqara you can have some rhytm change, some musical interlude, and gradually the song takes over, and then you night blend it with a bit of violins, and then back to the original Sura.

So this is progresive islam.

Personally its not for me but you know - allah is the one who knows best!

When i think of a progressive Muslim, I think of a person who left a lot of Muhammad SAW teachings.

A non denomination believer in God and disbeliever in man made religions that were devised to control a populace!

You can place 'progressive' in front of all the major religions to create a vast improvement!

If it is a reference to the political ideology - progressivism - then it is basically those who advocate political reform, probably that of shariah I presume.

There is muslim and non muslim
