Where can I purchase a Nikon MB-D100 that is not so expensive?

Hi Matt. There's really no easy answer here. You can watch Craig's List or eBay but what it boils down to is tenacity. You have to ask yourself how much it is worth to get a great deal if you have to wait and watch and hope (for several weeks or even a month). I have done this with several pro Nikon lenses and it was worth it. I had fun on "the chase". However, I was able to save about $2000.00 and you are looking at saving much less because the MB-D100 doesn't cost as much.
Outside of eBay and Craig's List, if I were you, I would use Google Shopping AND Yahoo Shopping. Type in "Nikon MB-D100 price" or "Nikon MB-D100 sale". This will be a good start. From there, a list will be generated. You will be able to see what merchants have this item and what their best price plus shipping will be.
To look at specific stores, I would go to Adorama or B&H. They have an area on their websites which links to their used stuff. Both places are very accurate in their descriptions and they are very reliable, trusted merchants. Adorama sometimes sells gray-market stuff. Try to stay away from this. They are very open about something being gray-market or USA version.
No matter where you look, be careful that you don't get tricked. With sneaky wording, some sellers try to sell knock-offs. Listings or sales like this can be worded : "MB-D100 for Nikon" when in reality, the "for Nikon" is the giveaway. An item being "for" Nikon and an item being genuine Nikon are two different things. :)
I hope this helps. I will do a few searches for you myself. Good luck!
