The AL is a pretty easy selection - Miguel Cabrera, 1st baseman for the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers are in contention in the A.L. Central, and Cabrera is, as of Thursday, leading the A.L. in the Triple Crown categories - batting average, home runs and RBIs. No one has won the Triple Crown since Carl Yastrzemski did it in 1967. Runners-up include the Yankees' Robinson Cano, and the Rangers' Josh Hamilton.
The NL selection is a little bit tougher. My pick would be Joey Votto from the Cincinnati Reds. He is leading the N.L. in home runs, on-base percentage and slugging percentage. The Reds also have a three game lead in the N.L. Central Division. Runners-up in the NL include Cardinals' incumbent Albert Pujols (as always) and Rockies' starter Ubaldo Jimenez.
AL Cy Young is a very tight race. The Mariners' Cliff Lee would appear to be the favorite, but he pitches for a team that is in last place. The Yankees' Phil Hughes and Andy Petitte, the Rays' David Price, and the Red Sox' Jon Lester all pitch in the toughest division in baseball and have comparable numbers. Right now, Lee has a slight advantage, although he missed some of the year. I would pick Price.
The N.L. is also very difficult. Jimenez is one of only a handful of guys to have 15 wins before the All-Star break. But the Marlins' Josh Johnson has sparkling numbers, including a sub 2.00 ERA. Back-to-back incumbent from San Fransisco, Tim Lincecum, is also having an incredible year, as is the Phillies' Roy Halladay, and the Cardinals veteran Adam Wainwright and rookie Jaime Garcia. Johnson would get my vote.

AL MVP: Miguel Cabrera- He is currently nearly the Triple Crown Leader in the AL
NL MVP: Joey Votto or David Wright- Too hard to decide between the 2. Great First halves for both of them. Wright leads in RBI and Votto leads in HR. Both of them have around 315. AVG as well.
AL CY YOUNG: David Price- Leads AL in Wins and Second in ERA. Cliff Lee is having an amazing year though but he plays for a bad ballclub in the Mariners.
NL CY YOUNG- Josh Johnson- The popular pick is Jiminez but Johnson has been more reliable in his last 5 starts and leads the MLB in ERA with a 1.70. That is half a run last then Jiminez. He is also 4th in the MLB in K.
