What is the proper etiquette for out-of-town guests in a 1BR apartment?

They invited me to stay with them but they had an extra guestroom. How do I repay the favor when I live in a 1BR apartment?

I do not think you need to offer up your bed unless it were perhaps your parents coming into town and even then it my depend on the relationship.

If you have a sofa bed, problem solved. If not, go to Target and invest in an air mattress. There will be no end to situations that will make this useful.

Also, ask your guests to bring a towel or towels (depending on how long they are staying) as you probably don't own a ton of towels. I know I don't. You'lll be glad you did.

If they are driving you can ask them to bring pillows and a blanket as well. If they are flying you will probably need to provide these.

Remember that it is an honor and responsibility to have guests but you are doing them a favor. Probably saving them at least $100 or more on hotel/motel and giving them the option to make food instead of eating out every night. Don't be afraid to communicate what you may not be able to provide in advance. It will make for a happier trip for them in the end.

Do you have a couch? You could sleep on this and give them the bed. If not, maybe but an air mattress (less than 50- at any sporting goods store) and you can set it up in the living room, again giving them the bed.

this may be a financially appropriate question besides as one related to the party. If the out of city visitor in basic terms seem, you haven't any longer have been given any criminal duty to pay any of their fees. despite if, in the event that they are sturdy acquaintances you are able to the two placed them up on your place or enable them to fend for themselves, the two would be ultimate suited. in case you invited somebody to bypass to, it is implied interior the expression which you would be offering room and board. in case you invite somebody for an party which incorporate a marriage, many times in the event that they are on the spot relatives, you the two have them stay at your place or you pay for a hotel. in the event that they are in basic terms acquaintances or nuclear relatives, you arranged a set cost at a hotel and enable them to be attentive to which one and the charges. despite if, in all situations while you're prosperous and the visitors are undesirable, you bypass the extra beneficial mile to work out that they've a sturdy time coming on your experience. you place them up in a good hotel and you spot they get a good meal a minimum of as quickly as an afternoon. while you're prosperous, you do no longer make their coming a monetary burden. in case you do pay for their hotel, you do no longer make a great deal of it. the fewer pronounced, the extra beneficial. bear in strategies, a great area of etiquette isn't embarrassing human beings.

Trust me...ANYTHING is better than a hotel. If they have to sleep on a foldout sofa bed or an airmattress, it's still 100x better than a hotel. It feels lived in, you don't feel like you're gonna catch something, and you know the housekeeping people wont go through your things or accidentally rent your room out to someone else.

Edit: Hotels also tend not to have a kitchen/food prep area so they leave you no choice but to grab takeout.

If you have the money put them up in a room for one night and serve dinner at your house. If low on the cash just serve a nice dinner and invite them over when there in town.

You can rent a bed or get an air mattress, if you really want to do this. Otherwise, make a reservation for them at a nearby motel, your place is smaller, that is not your fault.

Get one of those air beds that you can blow up and deflate in the morning, you fold them up and put them in a closet.
