name this Japanese TV miniseries?

Years ago a local PBS station leased out it's morning broadcast time to some network that showed Japanese television. It was amazing stuff, and I really wish that was still available. There was one miniseries I particularly remembered. I don't remember the title, but the subtitle was, I believe, "A Time to Shine," it was about a medical school I think, because it reminded me strongly of The Paper Chase, and I wrote down the show's writer, Okada Ewa, who is not listed at IMDB.

What was this show? It's such a shame that Japanese TV isn't shown anywhere that I know of, a lot of it was awesome.
