Can someone help me find a "low profile" window air conditioner?

Is this window a small on ? Will the window open more if you fix the window? If both of these answers are "no" then can you take the window out? You want to stay with a standard size window air conditioner because the internal components to make it work are at a fixed dimension. You cna go to a portable air conditioner that sets on the floor and has wheels on it. It also dehumidifies. It is primarily made for rooms where the regular a/c won't reach. "Compact" has a model like this rated at 8000 btu and sells for just under $400. If yo can go this way they have a web site. Just type in "portable air conditioners" and go on the search engine.
