College courses for high school kid?

Would it be a good idea to take college courses this summer. Im going to be a junior in high school and I'm just looking for something that would give me a competitive edge when i apply for college. Any one know any schools which offer free or cheap courses online?

Taking college courses would be a good idea if you can handle them, but online courses are unlikely to help you much. For one, online colleges are businesses - their courses are expensive. And for another thing, many (real) colleges and high schools won't accept them for credit. You'd be much better off taking a course at a local university or community college, and you might even be able to do that for free through your high school - but most of those have already started, so it's too late for this summer.
