If someone is born deaf what language do they think in?

Update:

ok first braille(not brail) is for the blind not the deaf

second: BORN deaf so they heard no sounds...such as the sounds of the words doesnt matter if you know how to read...

Update 2:

many ppl didnt understand while others did....born deaf so they never heard how to produce the sounds to words. Even by looking at the lips of others it would be hard for them to produce the sound on their own: example put earplugs where you cant hear and try to speak a language you never seen be4, even then you would have more of an advantage than them..

Great question!! I really would love to know the answer myself. I guess, they'll think in the language that their parents use. Or maybe they won't think at all, sure they'll see things and take it in but they won't think like "that book is red" since they're deaf how can they learn the name of that colour in the first place. I know my answer makes no sense, I just don't know how to explain it!

...the Language that God has given them... an internal thought process that transcends the "spoken word" (similar) to what God has given to those who believe in Spiritual Language (sometimes known as "speaking in tongues".) The Deaf too, have that internal thought process of a language for them personally and also, known only to God !

  • They don't think in language. They think in pictures or ideas.

I don't think in language unless I am trying to translate from English into either Spanish or German or vise verse.

They don't know any verbal language since they can't hear so they obviously don't think in a verbal language

sign language. They've actually shown that deaf persons think in sign the way we think in words.

Children dont think in words. They think in pictures.

And when they grow up, they think in whatever language there taught.
