is it the same year here in Africa?
I'm just asking this because one of my cousins told me that some lady said that in Africa it is like 1990.....(something) so 1990 something, and i really want to know.

When I was in Kenya I was told that the country's infrastructure was more advanced in 1930 than it is today. Maybe that is what she meant. This is not true for all african countries. As far as the actual date goes, it's the same date everywhere in the world depending on whether it is before or after midnight.

This may have been in Ethiopia
"The current year according to the Ethiopian calendar is 2002, which began on September 11, 2009 AD of the Gregorian calendar. The year 2003 will begin on September 11, 2010."
Or in Tunisia As you can see in this next link, there are many different calendars still in use today,

Uhm no we are on the same calendar as the rest of the world. She probably meant behind in technology and so on.

yes , just remember that this is Africa and you should not measure it to the USA or Europe.
SA is a great country still in touch with its nature.

Maybe she meant that Africa is a few years behind. (In terms of technology etc)

The World Cup just ended. The banners,you dint see 2010? But Ethiopia is in 2006 or 2002 idk they have their own calendar
