Utah Replacing The Carlos Boozer Void With Al Jefferson?

The Jazz might not be so bad next season since it looks like they will be using the 14 million dollar trade exception they've gained from the Boozer sign and trade to acquire Al Jefferson from Minnesota. Al is a more talented post player than Booz but he doesn't have the shooting range further away from the basket that Carlos has.

Do you think AJ's presence in Utah will make the Jazz a better team?

Or will it just return them to the 50+ win team they were before?

Or will they not be as good as last season?

Thoughts?

Utah will be a 3rd,4th seeded team this year

Al Jefferson's presence can help the team add a protection to the basket and a guy who can finish at the rim. Okur can play at PF like what Orlando is doing, 3pt shooters at the 4.

I had the Utah Jazz as big loser in the 2010 offseason but I not so sure now they acquire Al Jefferson. But Carlos Boozer for Al Jefferson is for the best since Boozer already seemed to had one foot out the door last season.

On paper I think the team got weaker but the Utah Jazz always seem to overachieve so who knows.

Anyways here my other winners and losers of the 2010 offseason http://bit.ly/cPvmvG

Jerry Sloan is a great coach and the team always plays hard, but they just lost a lot of talent to the Bulls. They will loose more players if they don't step it up. If Okur and AK47 can stay healthy it will help... but I think they wasted the draft pick they got from the Knicks... I think the kid will be out of the NBA in 4 years.

Boozer is far and above an average Power Forward... his loss is huge... Korver's too. They could not beat the Lakers before and now that gap has widened. I love to watch them play but they will be lucky to land the 7th or 8th spot in the west this coming season.

I'd like to send my condolences to Jazz fans. Sorry, but Al Jefferson is not that good. Slow, can't play D, doesn't pass the ball, and gets injured a lot. But he is a good offensive player with great post moves. It's a downgrade from Boozer.

its not just boozer, the loss of Korver is significant as well. but with AJ they can play memo at the 4 and use his outside shooting. they are probably a playoff team wich means 50 wins

He'll help but won't be as big as a impact like Carlos Boozer.
