reset your computer? In my terms (hopefully understandable): is there a way to reset it so, for all intents and purposes, it's like I just bought it? I have the important stuff backed up.

Format the whole disk then, reinstall the operating system then restore the backed up data.

its called system restore, unless your trying to empty your harddrive, then you need to use something like Dericks boot & nuke to clean the disk or use a low level format to write 0's to the entire drive, then reformat it & install your OS & your backups.
