People here keep saying "minority Republicans can't block anything" - Remember the filibuster?

Anyone who says repubs can't block anything are either liars or fools. 60 votes are required in the Senate to defeat a filibuster. The Dems don't have 60 votes any longer. For those screaming about the healthcare bill, the Seanate Dems had 60 votes at that time.

The leftist would whine no matter what. Republicans have only blocked legislation so far or threatened to do so that are bad for America.

Since the idiot left don't actually read the bills they claim they want passed, you can't expect America to just take your word for it that the bill is good.

If you actually read Obama Care, you'd realize that premiums would be going up, no matter how Obama lied about it, and that taxes would be going up to.......and not only for those with more than $250,000 a year income.

If you read the Cap and Trade bill, you'd find that it gives government over-reaching power to tell you what you can have in your house and control the conditions for selling it.

If you read the original finance reform bill, you would know that it gives Chris Dodd the power to demand all transactions flowing through a bank........including your very account transactions, savings, checking, transfers, etc.

Now if that isn't intrusive enough or a violation of our privacy, I don't know what is, and if the left is too stupid to understand the wheel they are starting in motion, they need to either stop voting or get smarter. Because I"m not going to tear this country apart, violate the Constitution and allow government to take over our lives and dictate to us how to live all because of left wing ignorance.

Did you realize that in 2012 it will be illegal to use tungsten bulbs ? A little add in that the democrats made to the energy bill that passed and no one has made a stink over.............yet.

Did you realize that democrats still haven't repealed or fixed the Minimum Alternative Tax yet, therefore government is getting over $65 million more than they deserve ? All because Charles Rangle that slacker wo'nt repeal it until he can find another way to steal the money from citizens to make up for it.

Once you give money to a democrat, they will never give it back, even if its ill-gotten gains.

No, I remember that America hated Obamacare so bad that they gave the safest Democratic seat in America (Ted Kennedy) to a Republican to block it! Yet, Obama used shady Chicago tactics to ram it through anyways.

Obama not only broke his pledge to NEVER pass legislation without 60 votes in the Senate, but used reconciliation to pass the legislation instead of what it was written for (only to adjust dollar amounts of passed bills).

Plus he had to buy off several states to even get that done. The result is not what liberals wanted. Now the people in the 'bought off' states have better healthcare than everyone else. Does THAT fit the liberal platform?

The problem is with the far left Democrats. They're too radical and they can't get all the moderate Dems to sign off on their agenda.

This Republican filibuster nonsense is just that - nonsense.

They can block an awful lot with a President that is trying not to be partisan, and congress full of Democrats that would like to act like a minority party rather than a majority.
