Ramadan : How is the preparation for Ramdan going :) ?

Assalaamu alaykum brothers n sisters !!

Ramadan is almost here, Alhamduillah and it very very essential for us to prepare for this blessed month. By preparing we maintain our imaan through out the month (without missing out on the blessed month's benefits) Insha'Allah. I thought I'd share some tips on how to prepare for Ramadan :)

1.Try to fast on Mondays and Thursdays as of today.

2.Start reading the Quran everyday after Fajr prayers.

3.Spend some time listening to recitations from the Quran.

4.Train yourself to go bed early so that you do not miss the Fajr prayers.

5.Keep yourself in a state of Wudu most of the time.

6.Evaluate yourself each day before going to bed.

7.Thank Allah for good deeds, and repent to Him for your mistakes and sins.

8.Give yourself time alone, so that you can meditate, make dhikr and tasbeeh.

9.Start giving Sadaqah each day, no matter how little. Make it a habit like eating and drinking.

10.Spend more time reading Islamic books, especially the Quran, Seerah, Hadith, and Fiqh.

11.Find time to help others with your wisdom, knowledge and talent.Try to write articles on Islam for Muslims and non-Muslims.

I think not preparing for the month of Ramadan is why the masjids are half filled during Night prayers and Fajr prayers, during the middle of Ramadan itself? What do you think?

Insha'Allah let us all start the preparation =)

    wa alaikum salam

Good tips mashaAllah, but also one should try and do these things year round inshaAllah. And you know I see that sometimes the masjids are full in Ramadan but empty the rest of the year, we need to not be just Ramadan worshipers. Ramadan is a time for extra worship, not a time to worship for a month like we should all year then stop after subhanAllah.

May Allah reward you for your reminder. Ameen

    And Allah knows best

Well I'm getting up for Fajr every day, so I can be certain to get up for Ramadan, and well, because you should anyway.

I try to keep wudhu but it's not easy for a newbie! I forget.

I'm drinking less water during the day, because I have tried to fast for Ramadan in the past (as a non-Muslim) and I found the water part the worst part.

I'm cutting back on coffee so I don't go bonkers without it later in the day.

I can't go to bed early though because Isha is so late. I used to go to bed early before, but now I have to stay up for Isha and it makes me tired during the day but inshallah I will adjust to it before Ramadan and be in good condition to fast.
