how to save hp keyboard from water (HP/laptop expert needed, please!,water spillage on keyboard question)?
so i had sopping wet hands because i had just finished washing and then i can't remember why but i needed to press a key on the laptop because the screen went off and i was watching an movie and the water from my hands dripped onto the keyboard. this has happened before to my hp G62-105 and a few keys went all funny and then i can't remember what i did but it started working normal again, but this time it doesn't seem to be fixing itself and the keys u.i.o.p and the up arrow doesn't work. i'm pretty sure it's still under grantee but i've got all my stuff on it and i would prefer to keep it. any solutions?
p.s. i did turn it off and upside down as soon as i realised but i only did this when i found out that the keys weren't working which was much later when i sat down and used it.
any advise of experience is appreciated, thank you!

oh dear, you do seem to have a problem.
Turning laptops upside down when they are wet just fills the hollow underside of the keys with what ever liquid was spilt in the first place, always stand it on its side and place a tissue or kitchen towel to absorb any spillage. Drying may actually take days depending on the amount of liquid and what type of liquid.
If yo return your laptop for a warranty repair most technicians can tell the keyboard has had some sort of spillage, this is not covered by your warranty and you will be charged if they notice.
Always back up your important data to CD or external media before sending any laptop in for repair, more often than not the first thing done is to reload windows, and they will format first. Your data is only important to you, the manufacturer does not care about your data and will not save it even if you ask them to.

First, never turn a laptop upside down, you transfer the water to the keys and they act like cups. The correct way is unplug the power supply. Leave the computer off, open the screen 90 degrees and set it up on end for about three hours to allow the moisture to drain out on a towel. I scratch my head ever time I read someone has turned their Laptop upside down.

I see the sticky jokes have already been told ;) Oh dear it may well be ruined, is it a laptop? The copper under the keys gets affected by liquid I think. Time to call in the professionals.
