How can I block contact requests in Yahoo! Messenger?
These appear from time to time as popup windows while I am in Yahoo! Mail. They are never, ever anyone I know. I never use this product anyway. How can I block or disable this feature?

The best thing to do is to change your settings so only your Contacts can message you as follows:
Click on "Messenger" in the top left hand corner.
Click on "Preferences".
Click on "Ignore List".
Click on "Ignore anyone who is not in my Yahoo Contacts".
Click on "Apply" followed by "OK".
If you want to disable Yahoo Messenger:
Click on "Messenger" in the top left hand corner of the Messenger Toolbar.
Click on "Preferences".
Click on "General".
UNTICK the box "Automatically start Yahoo Messenger".
Click on "Apply" at the bottom followed by "OK".
If you want to delete Yahoo Messenger:
1. Click the Start menu and select Run.
2. Type appwiz.cpl and press OK. This opens "Uninstall or Change a Program."
3. Right-click on Yahoo! Messenger and select Uninstall/Change.
4. In the window that opens, click Finish to uninstall.

If you want to disable the IM feature of Yahoo Mail
Change your status - next to your name to 'Offline' by using the dropbox arrow or putting your cursor on the smiley and selecting "Sign out of Chat"

go to Yahoo Messenger and click "Deny" to that request. and then put that name in your Block List.
