why are people killing the Chupacabra?

Because they are ignorant and afraid.

This animal has as much right to live as anything else has. Whether the animal killed was in fact a chupacabra is of no consequence whatever: it is a living thing with a right to life.

People fear what they do not understand...the Chupacabra that these animal control officers shot and killed in Texas were strange looking dogs, but that is because they were sickly. This is not the first time that a dog has been mistaken for a Chupacabra. One alleged chupacabra was killed in Nicaragua and was examined by scientists at the Autonomous National University of Nicaragua. When the scientists revealed that the carcass was that of a common dog, they were met with skepticism and derision. Nobody wants to read a story with the headline: Chupacabra turns out to be Chihuahua.

Because they are pests! They after attack farm animals.. and people that farm are left with dead animals due to the chupacabra. So Im not surprised that they are killing them. They are creepy looking anyways.

** By the way people have seen these animals THEY ARE REAL.. they have been caught on tape by police and by various people! They look like a hairless small dog with sharp teeth.. and are often called the "blood sucker".

They are found most commonly in Mexico and Texas.

Saw that..they shot a couple of sick dogs...and the news agencies showed up for the chupacabra!

I saw the news, too. They are destroying the animals because they are killing livestock. Be it a dog or a coyote, the animals killed were mangy, thin and in poor health. Their lives were a misery to them. Poor critters, they are better off dead. I say this as a compassionate person who does not like to see others suffer.

how can they kill it? nobody has ever seen the chupacabra. i'm from where it has been spotted multiple times. i'm from nuevo laredo, mexico. a lot of cases of chupacabras has been reported but no one has ever seen it.

THOSE ARE NOT CHUPUCABRAS! those are just ugly dogs. chupucabras look NOTHING like what yahoo and nbc is showing you from texas! chupucabras walk on 2 legs, not 4 legs like a dog! they don't have snouts like a dog! they don't have ears like a dog! they don't have teeth like a dog! or paws like a dog! or tails! you know what does have all these thing? DOGS! animal control shot a dog, that's not news! ask a puerto rican if that was a chupucabra, they'd think you were retarded!

People are afraid of what they don't know. It's just the way things are like if you don't know a person you stay away from them unaware of what they are like.
