fun yet challenging christian children songs?
i teach a choir of 8-10 year old kids at a lutheran church and i have a really hard time finding music for them that isn't overly childish. i've actually had to rearrange many pieces for high school/college level choirs in order to find something that challenges them. they are really quick learners, and we do everything by rote. any suggestions of fun yet challenging christian children songs or resources for finding them?

I think you're already doing it the right way. Kids songs are for 5-year-olds. These kids are old enough to be learning real hymns. The obvious difficulty is not having tenor or bass sections, but have you investigated music intended specifically for women's choirs?
I was in a school choir singing real hymns in the fourth grade (1979), and it breaks my heart to see the dumbed down music most children's choirs sing nowadays.
