I'm always happy with Sam's Club for my computer purchases. They also have the best return policy.

They have HP's for as low as $499. I've never liked Best Buy, but that's just my opinion.

    Have a nice day!

It really depends where you live and the quality of the staff at the store.

    I recommend you shop around.

But beware of shop assistants that will only sell you what they have in stock or get the most commission on.

Research and determine your minimum requirements, which will depend on what sort of things you are going to use the computer for. Then aim a little higher.

E.g. if you are going to use it for photographs you will need a large Hard Drive and a Fast Processor for rendering the pictures.

    Have fun.

Best Buy, unless you want an advanced computer. I got a Dell from BB, and it is good. The one I really wants I will have to have ordered; because it will cost between 4 and 5 thousand.

never EVER buy anything from best buy!! unless you have tons of money and don't mind paying $$$$ for great customer service and lots of service goodies.

they typically charge anywhere from 50% to 345% over all the other store for the same stuff, offer less selection, and you money is just worth way less there. \

I recommend other stores, which will vary by area. Fry's Electronics, Microcenter, Newegg.com Amazon.com.

Costco, Sam's Club, any store will have good computers. It's just finding the right price. I have been to Costco for a computer and it was cheaper there than at Walmart. Just look for the right computer and the right price. Look around and compare.

    Dell online

DO NOT GET AN APPLE THEY ARE TERRIBLE. MY MOM HAS AN APPLE AND IT IS JUST THE WORST. ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN APPLE.

--edit 1-- if you are going to get a Dell, order it from http://www.dell.com/ don't buy from a middleman like BestBuy. You'll end up paying more.
